Flash Player for Firefox for N9 now available in Nokia Store
Editor: Andrew Flegg
As previously discussed, a plugin for Adobe Flash in Firefox is now available for Harmattan, for free, through the Store. It's described as: Bring the FULL web to your device with Flash Player- videos, games, apps & more. Adobe Flash Player enables a complete web browsing experience by enabling access to your favorite interactive content. Your editor had a very brief play, but with the HTML5 support and use of mobile YouTube, the usefulness of it - for me, at least - will be lower than having Flash on the N900 was.
Review of Firewall+ Pro, a call and SMS blocker for the N9
Editor: Ryan Abel
AllBoutN9 has posted a very positive review of the Firewall+ Pro call/SMS blocker for Harmattan. Firewall+ Pro by Matt Lee blocks all unwanted calls or SMS. By using blacklists or whitelists the applications knows exactly which calls or messages have to be ignored. The caller won't take a note of that - she or he gets a busy signal. Matt Lee's application comes with a big variation of options, like time based rules or a schedule mode. Check the review for more details. Firewall+ Pro is available from the Ovi Store.
Twitter petition for Skype video call on top of audio calls on N9
Editor: Ryan Abel
A new petition was started last week to attempt to convince Skype to add video calling functionality support for Harmattan. As of this writing the petition has 108 signatures. If you're interested in seeing Skype video call functionality in Harmattan be sure to sign it. Although the likelihood of much progress being made here if Skype doesn't already have something in development seems low.
