Urho Konttori, a Maemo contributor from the 770 days who got snapped up by Nokia, has shared his thoughts on the last few months, touching upon Gary Birkett's death; the planned updates for Harmattan and the delays to the sales' start: It's hard to put into words the feelings we have been having during the late summer/early autumn time. Software has been complete since summer, but some surprise issues had been helding the sales start for some time.
Unfortunately for us, but fortunately for Urho's career, he's moving on to the Windows Phone groups in Nokia and, in particular, more the hardware rather than the software. This has given him an insight into the hardware which may be coming in 2013/2014 - and he's excited.
IdeasProject for Nokia N9 challenges for ideas to improve Swipe UI

Nokia has launched an "N9 challenge" on their IdeasProject brainstorming site. If you give your feedback on the Nokia N9 user interface - in particular ideas to improve the key features described below. We are also interested in hearing your innovative ideas for the next generation of mobile touch screen devices. The top 10 ideas will be rewarded with a Nokia N9 each!
The challenge ends on 15th November. There are already a large number of contributions, ranging from the spamming/missing the point (for example, "IRDA port" and "international clock") through to the interesting (for example, "swipes from centre to send/download content"). Unfortunately, there are a large number of one-word/line entries which fit into the former category.
